Broadway favorites Daniel Radcliffe, Hugh Jackman and Ralph Fiennes are among the winners of Spike TV’s 2011 Scream Awards, which honor films, TV shows and performances in the genres of fantasy, sci-fi, comic book and horror. An awards show taped at Universal Studios in Los Angeles—with a special appearance by Radcliffe outside Lincoln Center in New York—will premiere on Spike TV on October 19, simulcast on VH1 and VH1 Classic.
Radcliffe and Fiennes received two of the six awards given to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. The How to Succeed star was named Best Fantasy Actor, and Tony winner Fiennes took the award for Best Villain as Lord Voldemort. In a taped sequence, Radcliffe will be introduced by fellow Broadway headliner Samuel L. Jackson (The Mountaintop), who urges the cheering throng surrounding the Lincoln Center fountain to “raise your wands” in Radcliffe’s honor.
Jackman, who is headed to the Great White Way on October 25 in Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, received the Best Cameo award for the prequel film X-Men: First Class. Theater vet Peter Dinklage received the Best Supporting Actor award for HBO’s Game of Thrones.
